Baby boy names – biblical, hebrew?

I just found out I was having a boy. My favorites so far are Jonah, Noah, and I kinda like Jonas.

The last name is Reeves, so it’ll have to flow with that. I have a 14month old son named Nathan already. :) Thanks for your suggestions!

Biblical names are my favorite for little boys.

Also, I don’t really like names ending with "aiden" just because they’re so common now… no offense to anyone.
I do kind of like the name Gabriel, but isn’t he the Angel of Death in the bible?
Thanks for everyone’s opinions and suggestions! :)

My 20 month old son is named Jonah!! I absolutely love it…and its not a very common name!!! I adore the name Noah too!!

I think you should go with Noah, because then you will have Nathan and Noah. Noah Reeves flown well, too. Noah David Reeves is nice. I don’t like the name Jonah for a boy, i think it sounds girly, and most people now associate the name Jonas with the Jonas Brothers. Congratulations in your baby boy. Best wishes!

My husband and I really like the names Azariah/Azriel (same name just different versions). Noah is becoming a very popular name, it was in the top 10 baby names for last year. There’s also the name Benjamin.

Cute names that you picked out though!

My favorite Bible name is Gideon. It’s not very common, but it’s not unheard of so it’s nice. It’s original meaning is "warrior" or "feller of trees." But in the Bible he was a judge, in the Book of Judges.

I like Jonas or Jonah, but I don’t like Noah, because it’s too common. I know 3 little boys named Noah, and have a friend who is considering Noah if her baby turns out to be a boy.

    I like all these too.
    Asher
    Cyrus
    Enoch
    Simon
    Jubal
    Lael
    Casper
    Jasper
    Joel
    Asriel
    Balthasar
    Luke/Lucas/Luca

  17. Gabriel is actually the Archangel who heralded the birth of Christ and of John the Baptist. I think he’s considered an angel of bother resurrection and death. It’s a very nice name though.

Personally, if I was going for a Hebrew name, I’d use something less common like Adlai (pronounced Ad-lay or lee–means "God’s Refuge"), but I tend to favor more unusual names. Jonas and Jonah are both lovely choices as well. Good luck, and congrats!!

Ok, on the name Gabriel, it isn’t my favorite but it is a classic name. And while yes he is the angel of death, he also was the one who told Mary she was going to be the mother of Christ. So there’s another side to him.

I love the name Jonas as well!
